A Charitable Trust Built for Kenya's Forests and Its People
At the Crossroads of Three Urgent Realities
The Green Connect Foundation is a registered public charitable trust established in Kenya to promote environmental conservation, socio-economic empowerment, and environmental education.
We exist at the crossroads of three urgent realities: Kenya's forests are disappearing, the communities that depend on them are being left behind, and the next generation is inheriting a diminished world they had no hand in creating.
Through our three pillars of Environment, Empowerment, and Education, we are building an alternative: one where restored ecosystems sustain thriving communities, conservation creates livelihoods, and young Kenyans grow up with the knowledge and tools to lead.
“A Kenya where healthy forests and thriving communities are not a trade-off — but a shared inheritance, protected by informed citizens and guided by the next generation.”
Original: “A healthy environment, empowered communities, and educated generations for a sustainable future.”
The PEACE Framework
Not values we display on a wall. The way we work, guiding every programme, every partnership, and every decision.
Three Interconnected Pillars
We use nature-based solutions, community ownership, and strategic partnerships to deliver outcomes that last.
Environment
We restore forests and degraded landscapes, protect water catchments, introduce clean energy solutions, and promote physical and mental wellbeing through nature. Our primary geography is the Ngong Forest ecosystem: Oloolua, Ngong Hills, and Kibiko blocks.
Empowerment
We build real economic pathways rooted in conservation. From green enterprise development and food security to youth employment and support for vulnerable groups, ensuring the people living alongside Kenya's forests have real capacity to protect them.
Education
We invest in young people. Through school support, green scholarships, environmental education programmes, and talent development, we ensure that conservation is not just taught as a concept but lived as a commitment.
The Ngong Forest Ecosystem
Our primary working area is the Ngong Forest ecosystem, encompassing Oloolua Forest, the Ngong Hills, and the Kibiko Forest blocks. This ecosystem sits on the doorstep of Nairobi, sustaining water, biodiversity, and livelihoods for millions.
